Job Description: Medical Officer – Cardiology
| Title | Responsibilities |
|---|---|
| Medical Officer (Cardiology) | Assist cardiologists in patient management, perform ECGs, monitor cardiac conditions, administer emergency care, and manage cardiac patient records. |
Required Qualifications:
- MBBS from a PMC-recognized university
- Valid PMC registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate cardiac patients in ER and OPD under supervision of senior cardiologists
- Manage and interpret ECGs, ECHOs, Holter monitoring, and cardiac enzymes
- Handle acute cardiac cases including hypertension, chest pain, and arrhythmias
- Participate in ward rounds and cardiac procedures
- Ensure accurate medical documentation and patient counseling
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative cardiac care
- Maintain infection control and clinical SOPs in cardiac units
- Coordinate with nursing and ICU staff for emergency management
Eligibility Criteria
- Valid MBBS degree
- Registered with Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC)
- Preferably experience or house job in cardiology/cardiac ICU
- Strong communication skills and stress handling ability
- Willingness to work in shifts (day/night)
Experience Requirements
- 1–2 years post-house job experience (preferably in cardiology)
