Job Description: Medical Officer
Title | Responsibilities |
---|---|
Medical Officer | Provide general medical care, attend to OPD patients, assist in national healthcare programs, participate in public health monitoring, and coordinate with federal health bodies. |
Required Qualifications:
- MBBS degree from a PMC/PMDC-recognized medical college
- Valid registration with Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC)
- Post-house job experience in public health or government health initiatives (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat general medical cases at government health facilities
- Coordinate with senior consultants and policy managers in national health programs
- Ensure medical records, prescriptions, and health reports are properly maintained
- Participate in health awareness, immunization, or outbreak surveillance projects
- Maintain high standards of professional ethics and confidentiality
- Submit monthly performance and activity reports to NHSRC supervisors
- Support special medical camps or field duties (as required)
Eligibility Criteria
- Pakistani citizen
- MBBS degree with house job completion
- Valid PMC license
- Willingness to work in Islamabad and travel occasionally for field operations
- Proficiency in Urdu and English communication
Experience Requirements
- 1–2 years post-house job experience (government/public health experience preferred)
- Familiarity with healthcare data reporting and vaccination programs is a plus
