Job Description: Medical Officer

TitleResponsibilities
Medical OfficerProvide general medical care, attend to OPD patients, assist in national healthcare programs, participate in public health monitoring, and coordinate with federal health bodies.

Required Qualifications:

  • MBBS degree from a PMC/PMDC-recognized medical college
  • Valid registration with Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC)
  • Post-house job experience in public health or government health initiatives (preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat general medical cases at government health facilities
  • Coordinate with senior consultants and policy managers in national health programs
  • Ensure medical records, prescriptions, and health reports are properly maintained
  • Participate in health awareness, immunization, or outbreak surveillance projects
  • Maintain high standards of professional ethics and confidentiality
  • Submit monthly performance and activity reports to NHSRC supervisors
  • Support special medical camps or field duties (as required)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pakistani citizen
  • MBBS degree with house job completion
  • Valid PMC license
  • Willingness to work in Islamabad and travel occasionally for field operations
  • Proficiency in Urdu and English communication

Experience Requirements

  • 1–2 years post-house job experience (government/public health experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with healthcare data reporting and vaccination programs is a plus
